We are the type of blog prospects that many scouts would probably describe as "toolsy". Our "intangibles" are plus-plus, but they don't translate to any usable game "tangibles". If we were players, we would be projected as "career organizational depth", which would be a dream come true, since the word "career" is in there. We still get to play, and that's all we care about.

The Interesting Baseball Hall Case for Jim Edmonds
Yes sports fans, it's Baseball Hall Day. Where fans like us sit in front of our TV's waiting for the moment of induction (ala FJOC announcement moment in the movie "Trading Places" (lol)). In this installment, I report an interesting tidbit given the recent perceived importance of the OPS (On-Base + Slugging%) Stat. Jim Edmonds' lifetime OPS was .903 vs. Griffey Jr's .907. McCovey & Stargell lifetime OPS = .889; Killebrew .884. In his day, Edmonds was only rivaled by Griffey in terms of CF defense (8 gold gloves, Griffey = 10). Most all fans can recall an Edmonds' defensive gem highlight. In his 17 years, Edmonds did win a WS crown with the Cards. He hasn't been ever linked to PED's, considered a clean player. It is sad that he is getting little support in early returns. Sad. I'll put Jim Edmonds at CF on my team, he could be centerfield. Let's hope he makes it to next year's ballot...
