Buck Showalter Costs the O's Another Big Game vs. Yankees

I was startled yesterday by the ease by which Orioles' Manager Buck Showalter single-handedly cost us the game. The play occurred with 1st and 2nd, one out, T8. A grounder got the runners over to 2nd and 3rd. The problem was that it was a bang bang play at 1st...and replays show that the runner was safe, as admitted by Yankees announcer Michael Kay (the ultimate homer). No review, next batter lines out to deep left. O's lose 3-2.
This reminds me of the 2012 playoff series, when Nate McClouth hit the foul pole in a playoff series vs. the Yanks. It was reviewed, but upon Network slo-mo replays, the ball changed direction. Thegame  should have been protested based on this evidence. U call out all stops in the play-offs, just ask the Montreal Canadiens and their infamous "stick" incident against the LA Kings.
Not to mention the infamous 1999 "Jeffrey Maier" incident. If this play happened a few years later, the replay would have clearly shown direct fan interference. Yankee fans forget this.
My conclusion is that Showalter made a bad mistake in this game, one that the other 31 MLB Managers would have had reviewed. Too close a call, too big game. Nothing to lose.
